Adventure in Mumbai

Hello guys! I am Rihan Shajeer. My mother’s name is Nisha Hameed and I like blogging as much as she does : )

Today I am going to write (or in this case, type) about a trip to one of the most iconic places in India. Can you guess which place it is???

It is Mumbai, the most populated city in India, Located in Maharashtra.

When we reached in Mumbai…

The moment I stepped out of the plane after the two-hour flight from Kochi, I knew this was going to be a wonderful experience. My grandmother and grandfather  also decided to join us. It was late

December , in the Christmas holidays which also happened to be the time my birthday came around.

The hotel we stayed in …

The hotel we stayed in was called the Grand ITC Central , Mumbai. It was one of the best hotels I’ve visited. It was very fancy, with chandeliers and elegant seats and multiple restaurants called by various names like "The Shanghai restaurant", Which had Chinese foods and the whole restaurant had a Chinese theme with designs of dragons carved on fine wood and had hand-licking varieties of foods like Chinese noodles. And there was a North-Indian restaurant but we did not visit that in our entire stay. Then there was a Main restaurant which was full of varieties of food and drinks. Even the food was very fancy!!!

Where I wished to go a lot...

I wanted to go to the Bhimbetka island , mainly because it had the Bhimbetka caves which had ancient paintings made in the caveman times and it is a oasis of knowledge...

But ,of course, not all dreams can be fulfilled... We chose not to go there because it was a six-hour journey by ferry just to go there and it would take nearly a day

So we did not go but a surprise was in store for me

The next day…

We went and explored the markets of Mumbai which were of various types. These "markets" were rows and rows of shops arranged neatly. We walked and explored for what seemed like hours to me. I was becoming very hungry and tired. Then we all stopped at a small shop to eat at 2'o'clock in the afternoon. Then, tired and hungry, I fell asleep...

                                          Drinking Juices in the shop

Sometime later I woke up. There was fish and chips in front of me! Fish and chips is my favorite food and I love it ! It is a must to try! Anyways, back to the trip , after that we continued exploring. Since the next day , December 26th was my birthday, we went to look for a present for me. I settled for a walkie-talkie with a wristwatch and an earphone.

That very evening…

We called a taxi and went to a market.

First we saw a long, long line of fashion shops which had cloth shops which sold multicolored shops.
I thought it would be a fashion clothes buyer's paradise.
And then came the "real" shops. Almost every shop you could imagine was in a single street. WOW!
After exploring for quite some time (in the middle of which we stopped to buy a bubble wand for my brother) we went back to the hotel...

On the very next day , my birthday…

A surprise was waiting for me . My Grandfather and grandmother had bought a yoga bowl for me!

Do you know what a yoga bowl is ?

It is a bowl that comes with a cylindrical stick with a bowl and you have to rotate the stick around the bowl and it will generate a relaxing sound and I wanted it for a lot of time.

Best Birthday ever !

Next we went to the Gateway of India, One of the most iconic structures built in India. There we also got a sight of the beautiful Taj hotel too!

                                                               The beautiful Taj Hotel

The bigger surprise was that…

The very next day, we were going on a cruise ship to Kochi!

The ship's name was Empress , from the company Cordilla Cruises
